Trackcar Owner/Operator Opportunities
Owners of motorcars and hi-rail vehicles who desire to operate on the Kosciusko and Southwestern Railway should contact Donald Guild don@ksry.com Such operations will be scheduled when as not to interfere with freight operations. They may be in conjunction with scheduled motorcar excursion programs. Private cars may only be operated on the line with proper authorization.
Fee for private cars is $30.00 per car with two riders. Each additional rider is $10.00 each.

MP 0.20 ABERDEEN JUNCTION. Junction with Canadian National - Illinois Central Railway.
MP 0.24 Derail on main line K&SW/CN-IC property line. No private operators allowed west of this point.
MP 0.28 Private crossing. Small cars may be turned at this point (ballast surface). (note: access to this point may be blocked by rail cars).
MP 0.48 I.C. WYE Track removed from south leg of wye.
MP 1.19 ALBERT'S spur. Westbound standard frog. Small cars may be turned at this point (ballast surface).
MP 2.23 Pumping Station access road - wood surface.
MP 2.99 County Road 4101 - gravel surface. Last point before Aberdeen Jct. where hi-rail trucks may be turned.

MP 14.13 THWEATT - County Road 4171 - gravel surface. Roadway has sharp curve north of crossing.
MP 16.06 State Highway 43 - Concrete surface. Hill blocking view on southeast corner.

MP 20.38 Knox Street - gravel crossing - road crosses at sharp angle.
MP 21.14 MUNSON'S CROSSING - County Road 5216 - wood surface - roadway has sharp curve north of crossing. Curve on north side of crossing must be flagged (in addition to flagman at crossing) while cars are being turned.
MP 21.16 International Paper spur - westbound standard frog.
MP 21.66 END OF TRACK.
INFORMATION ON FROGS.
Spring frogs must be sprung only if using diverging route.
Standard frog as used here means a frog with a flangeway for both routes.
Guarded frog as used here means a frog with a flangeway for both routes and a raised piece of metal about two inches high along the outside edges of the frog.
Standard and guarded frogs may or may not have a guide rail attached to the outside rails.
Direction listed with frog is direction of travel to enter the diverging route.
No wyes or turntables are located on the line.
RULE 426:
Motorcars equipped with whistle shall sound whistle at grade crossings (applies
to lead car of a group of cars only) and as a warning when required (Does not
relieve motorcars of complying with Rule 1103). No unnecessary whistle sounding
shall occur.
RULE 1102:
A. Flashing rear lights shall not be used on motorcars during daylight hours
except when activated by brake application (Does not apply to roof mounted
warning lights).
C. Motorcars operated at night must have front and rear lights.
RULE 1103:
Trackcars shall approach all grade crossings prepared to stop short of motor
vehicles or pedestrians
