KOSCIUSKO & SOUTHWESTERN RAILWAY
HOUSE MOVES AND OVERSIZE VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS.
Frequently it becomes necessary for individuals or companies to move house or oversize vehicles across the K&SW railroad tracks. In making the movement over our tracks, these moves must typically be accomplished very slowly and many times the railroad's warning devices must be altered to accomplish this move. It is our desire that such moves are made as safely as possible.
To assist you in making moves such as this, we must make certain safety precautions.
The Kosciusko & Southwestern Railway must be notified at 601-936-6781 at least 72 hours in advance of such moves.
Unless instructed otherwise, an employee of the K&SW railroad must be present when the move is made across the railroad. (If an employee would not normally be in the area, the mover will be charged $25.00 per hour with a minimum fee of two hours).
Any signs that must be removed by the mover must be immediately replaced after the movement clears the railroad.
Temporary removal of crossing signals, control boxes, and other similar fixtures shall be moved by railroad personnel only.
The mover shall ensure that the load does not contact the rail as the load is passing over the railroad.
Any expenses the railroad shall incur in items 2 thru 6 above shall be the sole responsibility of the mover of the oversize load.
